A Book Called… Forever {Opening Day}

A Book Called... Forever {Opening Day}

Last Saturday evening, Gina and I hopped in our car and traveled over the Williamsburg Bridge to attend the kick off of The Sketchbook Project, 2012 World Tour and to commemorate the Opening Day of A Book Called… Forever!

It was such a fantastic night of inspiration! I viewed about 30 projects myself- most of them from my Read List and then a bunch of random ones, thanks to the new “pick one + get a mystery project” feature Art House has implemented. My highlights of the 14th were live broadcasts from Joel Jelinski and Karin Grandstrand; chatting with Shane, Caitlin, Eli, Steven and Sarah, Chris, and the rest of the Art House Family; finally meeting Sarah Ryan and Koosje Koene; and enjoying the night with the love of my life, Gina!

Enjoy some snaps of my favorite projects! It looks like I will have to travel to the Library soon for round two, as I still have about 5 from my top 25 that I was unable to get my hands on throughout the night!

It seems so long ago that first I started jotting down names of artists who’s project I wanted to view in Williamsburg, Brooklyn at the Kick Off for The Sketchbook Project, 2012 World Tour!! Since then my Read List, has expanded well beyond anything handwritten into a fully designed list of my top 25 tour participants complete with detailed artist features and links to connect with them.

Today, I am proud to present you with my Read List!! Download the pdf, print it out, load it onto your iPhone or iPad, and grab a bunch of friends before you head out the door to Williamsburg this Saturday night. As I learned last year, that massive wall of sketchbooks at the Brooklyn Art Library can be just a little intimidating, so don’t get tongue tied by having this list in hand when you see it! Oh and be sure to ask a friendly librarian for Rob Jelinski’s A Book Called… Forever before you leave the venue ;) .

Blake Stratton and RJS Team Up

Blake Stratton for A Book Called... Forever EP

From the moment I heard Blake’s voice, I was hooked! His smooth vocals and engaging wordplay are the perfect combination for this young star to rise to the top of the charts. Besides all of that, Blake is simply awesome all around! I feel honored to collaborate with him on A Book Called… Forever EP and on an exclusive Viral Broadcast that I will be formally announcing this Saturday, right here on My Ink Pad.

Blake Stratton is an artist with a new school sound and old school values- something nearly extinct. His lyrics in “Leave On A Light ” and “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” are unmatched in my book. They display faithfulness, love, and a dedication to being a real man- one who shares his journey, provides for his family, and loves sacrificially. As if that wasn’t enough, he single handedly turned the embarrassing song “(I’m Gonna Be) 500 Miles” by The Proclaimers into something romantic and truly moving. (COME ON SOMEBODY!!!!!)

Buy The Bellevue EP or your online seat to one of his viral concerts to support his awesome tunes or follow his journey on YouTubeFacebook, Tumblr or Twitter!
